The Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ), a flagship program led by the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) and partners, is now accepting applications for Cohort V, set to take place from August 17 to August 30, 2025, at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
This year’s edition promises a dynamic and hands-on learning experience focused on equipping participants with the tools, strategies, and networks needed to advocate for fair and inclusive climate solutions at all levels.
🌍 About the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice (NSSCJ)
Founded in 2020, NSSCJ is a Pan-African initiative designed to awaken and empower a new generation of climate justice advocates. It serves as a space for learning, mentorship, and grassroots organizing where youth leaders connect with scholar-activists, policy experts, and community organizers to co-create transformative solutions in the face of climate emergencies.
Since its inception, NSSCJ has reached over 1,500 participants from 87 countries, making it one of the continent’s most impactful climate leadership platforms.

- Interactive sessions on climate policy, justice, and equity
- Mentorship from seasoned climate leaders and campaigners
- Skill-building workshops in advocacy, policy engagement, movement-building, and communication
- Networking with youth leaders, organizations, and institutions from across the continent and the globe

🧠 School Format:
- Delivery: In-person and interactive sessions
- Languages: English (with provisions for regional understanding)
- Structure: Combines theory, practice, group work, and community-driven problem solving
- Certification: All participants will receive a certificate of completion and recognition from NSSCJ and PACJA

NSSCJ is proud to offer partial and full scholarships for selected applicants. Priority is given to applicants with strong commitment and demonstrated involvement in climate justice work, especially those with limited access to funding.
