The Opportunity Gateway Mentorship Program (OGMP) is a personalized global mentorship initiative that connects ambitious youth with skilled mentors from diverse professional, academic, and entrepreneurial backgrounds. Rooted in the belief that one conversation can change a life, OGMP exists to guide, shape, and accelerate the growth of emerging talents, especially in underrepresented and developing regions.
Why We Exist
Young people often have dreams but lack the guidance to turn those dreams into reality. At OG, we believe that access to opportunities is only as powerful as the support that comes with it. That’s where mentorship comes in.
The OG Mentorship Program provides a structured platform where mentors share real-world experiences, provide critical feedback, and offer access to networks that empower mentees to take bold steps toward scholarships, fellowships, internships, jobs, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Contextual Support: We understand the challenges faced by youth in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and underserved communities around the world.

Flexible Engagement: Not everyone learns the same way. We let mentors and mentees decide how often and how deeply they connect within the cycle.

Growth-First Model: This isn’t about quick wins. It’s about helping mentees build strategies, not just submit applications.
Who Can Participate?
Mentees:

Young people aged 17 to 35
-
Actively pursuing personal development or opportunity goals
-
Must demonstrate commitment to learning and be coachable
Mentors:

Professionals, scholars, or opportunity alumni with 3+ years of relevant experience

Must have strong communication skills and a heart for youth empowerment

Willing to commit at least 4 hours per month during each mentorship cycle
How It Works
1. Application & Selection
Participants apply online, sharing their goals, interests, and background. A selection panel reviews submissions to ensure readiness and commitment.
2. Matching
Using our custom-built matching system, mentees are paired with mentors based on goals, region, interest areas, and availability.
3. Mentorship Period (8 Weeks)
Each cohort lasts 8 weeks, during which mentees and mentors connect bi-weekly for goal-setting, advice, accountability, and progress tracking.
4. Resources & Training
We equip both mentors and mentees with:

Guidance articles and tools

Live check-in sessions hosted by the OG Team
5. Impact Review
Each cycle ends with:

A personal development plan created by the mentee

Feedback forms from both parties

Recognition for outstanding mentor/mentee performances

Each cycle, one mentee and one mentor are awarded the OG Star Builder Award, recognizing their commitment, growth, and contribution. Winners are spotlighted across our platform and invited to co-host future mentorship events.
